Microneedling

Get smoother, more radiant skin without surgery with microneedling treatment at Everyderm Dublin.

What Is Medical Microneedling?

Medical Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a skin rejuvenation treatment that utilises tiny, sterile needles to create microscopic channels in the skin’s top layer.

This process stimulates the skin’s natural ability to heal itself, promoting the production of new collagen and elastin.

The result is:

  • Improved skin texture
  • Reduced acne scars
  • Minimised enlarged pores
  • A more youthful appearance.

Our microneedling procedure is suitable for all skin types, including darker skin tones, and can address a variety of skin concerns on the face, neck, and body.

Technology and Methods

At Everyderm, we use the advanced SkinPen Precision technology—the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, offering a safer and more effective treatment compared to inferior derma rollers or at-home devices.

Usually we use numbing cream to ensure you have a comfortable and pleasant experience. The SkinPen device we use enhances the delivery of topicals applied to the skin such as hyaluronic acid, exosomes or platelet-rich plasma

Microneedling Benefits

Medical Microneedling offers numerous benefits. It stimulates collagen and elastin production, enhancing the skin’s natural ability to produce these vital proteins, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles

The treatment improves skin texture by addressing unevenness, large pores, and sagging skin. It effectively reduces acne scarring and stretch marks by encouraging new tissue growth.

The procedure enhances skin tone, helping with:

  • Sun damage
  • Dark spots
  • Aging skin.

As a minimally invasive procedure, it offers quick recovery with minimal discomfort and downtime.

Preparation

Refrain from using retinoids and exfoliants 24 hours before treatment. If you are not sure whether you should avoid certain products, just ask us, and we will be happy to advise. You should also drink plenty of water prior to your treatment to stay hydrated.

The Microneedling Procedure

Your journey begins with a thorough consultation to assess your skin conditions and concerns, ensuring we tailor the treatment to your needs.

On the day of the procedure, your skin is cleansed thoroughly, and a numbing cream is applied to minimise discomfort during the treatment. The microneedling facial is then performed using the SkinPen device, gently moved across the treatment area to create microscopic channels in the skin’s surface.

We can adjust the needle depth to target specific skin issues, from fine lines to acne scarring.

After the microneedling treatment, we may apply hyaluronic acid or other topical products to enhance hydration and healing.

A soothing cooling mask can be applied to calm the skin and reduce redness. We provide microneedling aftercare instructions to ensure optimum results and minimise any potential side effects.

Recovery and Aftercare

Following the microneedling procedure, you may experience mild redness and slight swelling, similar to a mild sunburn. This typically subsides within a few hours to a couple of days.

Our microneedling aftercare recommendations include avoiding sun exposure to prevent sun damage, using gentle skincare products, and staying hydrated to aid the skin’s healing process.

We advise against applying makeup for at least 24 hours to allow the skin to recover. Most clients return to their normal activities immediately, enjoying minimal downtime.

Recommended Treatment Frequency

For optimum results, we recommend a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This allows the skin to heal and regenerate between sessions, enhancing collagen production and achieving the desired results.

Multiple treatments ensure cumulative benefits, leading to significant improvements in skin texture and appearance. All Everyderm members can enjoy medical microneedling as part of their subscription.

Everyderm_Microneedling_Risks and Considerations

Risks and Considerations

Medical microneedling is generally safe when performed by trained professionals.

Risks are minimal but may include temporary redness, swelling, or discomfort

It’s important to avoid at-home microneedling devices, such as derma rollers, as improper use can lead to skin damage, infection, or permanent scarring. Attempting microneedling at home poses significant risks, including uneven results and complications.

Trusting trained professionals at Everyderm ensures a safe procedure with optimal outcomes.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Does microneedling work?

It depends on the technology, how the treatment is delivered, and the number of treatments. We are fastidious about our treatment protocols and the results we deliver. That’s why we have advanced imaging and high-resolution photography to guide treatments and deliver results that can be measured quantitatively.

What does microneedling do?

Microneedling makes holes in the skin. These holes or channels are anywhere from 0.5mm to 2mm deep and represent the site of injury where the skin begins a process of healing. When the skin heals, it ends up in better shape than it was before treatment. The healing takes time, and the cumulative effects of multiple treatments improves results more and more.

How long does it take to see results from microneedling?

It takes several months to see full results. With Everyderm, results continue to improve on an ongoing basis, and maintenance treatments mean the skin is hardly allowed to deteriorate. That is the beauty of Everyderm.

Our team of highly trained aesthetic professionals will guide you through every stage of the process on your first visit to Everyderm
