Cosmetic Injectables and Treatments – Everyderm

Cosmetic Injectables

At Everyderm, we have over 19 years of experience in cosmetic injections and aesthetic treatments. By choosing us, you minimise the risk of complications that can occur in inexperienced hands or non-medical settings.

What are cosmetic injectables?

Cosmetic injectables are a range of minimally invasive treatments that can help you look and feel great.

These treatments are designed to help you achieve a naturally healthy and youthful appearance. They can treat deep lines and wrinkles, revive dull skin, or reduce dark circles.

Cosmetic injectable treatments at Everyderm are performed by trained medical aesthetic providers who use different injectable substances to address your specific skin concerns.

For example, dermal filler injections and fat injections add volume to hollow areas or correct deep wrinkles. Other cosmetic injectables contain solutions of vitamins and antioxidants to reverse visible signs of skin ageing. Yet others stimulate collagen production and add softness and suppleness to your face.

Recovery time

In Everyderm clinic, cosmetic injectables are performed using local anaesthesia. The procedure requires minimal recovery time, and most patients can resume normal activities right away.

However, we generally recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity for 24-48 hours after a skin injectable treatment to minimise bruising and swelling.

Types of cosmetic injectables at Everyderm

At Everyderm Clinic, you get to choose from several main types of cosmetic injectables to boost your confidence and skin appearance.

Skin boosters

Skin boosters are applied superficially in areas of dry skin. We inject hyaluronic acid, a smooth, gel-like, naturally occurring substance, into the body. The procedure helps your skin retain moisture and treat visible signs of skin ageing.

We also use polynucleotides for the face, around the eyes, and for the body. These compounds stimulate your own elastin and collagen to make your skin look younger and brighter.

Dermal fillers

Cosmetic injectable fillers include both synthetic fillers and natural biocompatible substances. Examples include calcium hydroxylapatite, hyaluronic acid, and poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA).

These injectable dermal fillers are used for:

  • Treating skin laxity.
  • Correcting lost volume in the cheeks and other areas.
  • Lifting areas of skin laxity.
  • Filling facial wrinkles and scars.

We do not use permanent fillers such as polymethylmethacrylate microspheres (PMMA fillers) because they are not safe or reversible. Safety is always our number one priority at Everyderm.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Anti-wrinkle injections (also called muscle-relaxing injections) reduce lines and wrinkles. Our medical aestheticians at Everyderm are experts in delivering natural-looking results.

We use these injections to treat:

  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Frown lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Smoker’s lines around the lips
  • Facial asymmetries
  • Gummy smile
  • Neck bands
  • For facial contouring.

Muscle-relaxing injections temporarily block nerve impulses to facial muscles. They can smooth lines for 3-4 months, after which you need a repeat treatment to maintain the results.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a cosmetic injectable treatment we perform at Everyderm Clinic in Dublin. We inject nourishing substances such as minerals, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid into the dermis (middle layer of the skin).

The goal is to stimulate natural collagen production. The treatments support your skin in healing and rebuilding itself, but it is important to carefully select the areas treated. Also, precise placement of the needle is vital to obtain optimal results from mesotherapy treatments.

Platelet-rich plasma

Platelet-rich plasma, commonly called PRP, is an injection of your own blood into carefully selected areas of your face. A small sample of your blood is processed to separate the plasma and platelets. This solution contains growth factors that heal tissues throughout the body.

PRP treatments can treat ageing and sun-damaged skin and make your skin look smoother, younger, and overall healthier.

Recommended frequency of cosmetic injectables

The frequency of cosmetic injectable treatments depends on various factors.

Some of them include:

  • Your specific skin concerns and their severity
  • The type of cosmetic injectable treatment you undergo
  • Your results from the initial treatment.

Generally speaking, cosmetic injectables are repeated every 4-6 months to maintain the firmness and smoothness of your skin. However, some injectable dermal fillers can last for 18-24 months. These treatments are a great option if you’re not quite ready for facelift surgery.

At Everyderm, we perform a skin analysis and pre-treatment consultation. We then develop an individualised treatment plan for you so your skin gets the boost it needs and looks its best month after month.

Frequently asked questions

What types of cosmetic injectables are there?

At Everyderm Clinic, we offer several cosmetic injectables, including skin boosters, dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, mesotherapy and PRP.

What's the difference between skin boosters and dermal filler injections?

Skin boosters are injected superficially and in more widespread areas of the face. The aim is to increase hydration and improve the skin’s glow. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are injected into specific areas, such as the nasolabial folds. The aim is to plump up and add volume to areas of hollowness or shadowing.

Are there any complications after cosmetic injectables?

Complications after cosmetic injectables are rare when they are performed by trained professionals with experience. At Everyderm, Dr. Peter Prendergast has nearly two decades of experience in cosmetic treatments and surgical procedures. He ensures proper placement of the injectable substances, which lowers your risk of complications and helps you obtain the best results.
