Experience natural skin rejuvenation and hair restoration with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) at Everyderm in Dublin. Our clinic has over 15 years of experience using PRP to stimulate collagen, improve blood supply, and promote healing—without the need for foreign materials.

What is Injection Treatment?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is the liquid portion of your own blood that has been processed to achieve a high concentration of platelets

These platelets contain powerful growth factors and chemical messengers that encourage new tissue formation, support wound healing, and boost hair growth

Compared to many synthetic products, PRP platelet-rich plasma relies on your body’s natural components, reducing the risk of an allergic reaction.

At Everyderm, we harness PRP injections for both skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. Rather than filling directly with substances like hyaluronic acid, we use your own blood to promote regeneration in the treated area.

This helps address concerns such as:

  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Androgenic alopecia (male pattern baldness).

PRP for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet rich plasma injections can enhance skin rejuvenation by:

  • Improving oxygenation
  • Boosting collagen production
  • Encouraging faster tissue repair.

Problems like acne scars, depressed scars, and dull complexion can all benefit.

Platelet rich plasma before and after photos using plain photography are uncommon because the effects are usually on skin texture rather than colour.

However, advanced skin imaging can show smoother texture and a more radiant skin surface after several weeks. PRP is suitable for all skin types, making it a versatile option for anyone looking to refresh their appearance.

PRP for Hair Restoration

Beyond platelet-rich plasma facial procedures, PRP can address hair loss concerns such as androgenic alopecia or thinning hair.

The release of growth factors helps increase blood supply to the hair follicles and encourages hair growth. For men with male pattern baldness, PRP represents a non-invasive option to help thicken hair in areas where there is thinning or receding.

PRP for hair loss is great when a hair transplant is either unnecessary or unwanted due to its invasive nature or cost. Platelet-rich plasma, as well as LED are useful adjuncts and follow-up therapies after hair restoration surgery as well.

Technology and Methods at Everyderm

We offer platelet-rich plasma treatment in two primary ways—manual injection or injection with our U225 mesogun

The precise protocol we use depends on factors like hair loss severity, scarring depth, and skin type. Since we offer many effective cosmetic procedures, we sometimes combine PRP with microneedling (SkinPen), Morpheus8, or intelligent LED therapy to maximise its effects.

Steps of a PRP Treatment Session:

  1. Blood draw: We draw a small sample of your normal blood—just enough for our needs.
  2. Spinning: The sample is placed in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells, white blood cells, and the platelet-rich plasma component.
  3. Skin preparation: We apply a numbing gel to minimise discomfort and then thoroughly cleanse the affected area.
  4. Injection: We remove the liquid portion containing a high concentration of platelets and inject it into the treatment area. We may use a very fine needle or our mesogun for precision.

This four-step process can be completed quickly with little or no downtime. We typically recommend three treatments at 1-month intervals, followed by maintenance sessions every 6 months.

Potential Side Effects and Aftercare

Platelet-rich plasma therapy side effects are usually mild because we use your own blood, minimising the chance of allergic reactions or blood clots. However, mild bruising, mild swelling at the injection site, or minor irritation may occur.

We advise avoiding intense activities or irritants for a day or two to allow the treated area to settle.

Because PRP harnesses natural healing, final improvements may appear over several weeks as the platelets continue to promote healing and regeneration. Maintenance sessions help achieve longer-lasting benefits.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What is plasma, and what are platelets?

Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood, and platelets are components that help with wound healing and blood clot formation. When concentrated in PRP, these platelets release growth factors that support tissue regeneration.

What is platelet-rich plasma used for?

We use platelet rich plasma injection treatments for skin rejuvenation—enhancing glow, reducing acne scars, and tackling under eyes concerns—and for hair growth by stimulating hair follicles. PRP is also employed in other fields, like orthopaedics, for tendon injuries and joint injections.

How do platelet-rich plasma injections work?

We draw your own blood, spin it to separate out red blood cells and inject the platelet-rich portion, which contains essential signals to promote healing, encourage collagen formation, and support new tissue generation.

Are PRP injections painful?

No, we generally apply numbing cream followed by very fine or mesogun-based injections, making the process comfortable. The entire treatment session typically causes minimal discomfort.

What's the cost of PRP treatments?

Platelet-rich plasma is included in the Everyderm Diamond membership, so no additional cost is incurred apart from the monthly payment. Single treatments outside of the Everyderm Diamond plan cost from €450 depending on the indication.
